TRAUMA AUTOIMMUNE INDICATOR (TAI) SCREENING
OUR RESEARCH
Our team has developed the first known RNA biomarker approach to screen for trauma-induced diseases, such as PTSD.
PRELIMINARY RESULTS
An analysis of the immune response from 49 U.S. military veterans shows that there is a clear immune discriminator between those exposed to trauma with positive symptoms of PTS, those exposed to trauma with no symptoms, and those with neither trauma nor symptoms. At the heart of the innovative approach is the analysis of RNA transcriptomes mapped directly back to proteins integral to the immune system.
Most compelling, were four RNA sequences unique to 90% of those with PTS symptoms
Scientific Context: Normal Stress Response
Scientific Context: Persistent Stress Response
WHY THIS TEST?
The results of the test can help to inform individuals of a trauma-induced autoimmune disorder before it creates long-term damage, and guide healthcare providers in making a diagnosis and determining the best course of treatment for the patient, potentially improving their long term health outcomes.
TAI Screening Advantages
Efficient and minimally invasive process for PTSD identification
Simplifies treatment planning with severity assessment
Adaptable to diverse patient demographics
